The River Turns Near Nithi Falls, Mount Kenya

oil and mixed media on linen canvas

Framed in a custom designed oak frame

Near Nithi Falls, water cuts through the dense forest on the lower slopes of Mount Kenya, turning between rocks and vegetation as the trail follows its course.

The painting draws on the movement and rhythm of the river rather than a fixed view. Deep blues trace the water through the composition, while the surrounding forest breaks apart into vertical marks, flashes of colour and reflected light.
