Yaks Beneath the Khumbu Peaks
60 x 50 cm
Oil paint, collage and mixed media on canvas
Painted along the Everest Base Camp trail, this work captures a small herd of yaks crossing the Khumbu beneath snow-covered peaks. Essential to life in the Himalaya, these animals carry supplies between villages and high camps, moving steadily through a landscape shaped by ice, rock and altitude. Layers of oil paint, collage and expressive mark-making evoke both their quiet resilience and the vast scale of the surrounding mountains.
