Painted along the Everest Base Camp trail beneath the towering face of Lhotse, this work explores the contrast between the permanence of the mountain and the quiet human presence of a solitary stupa. Layers of oil paint, collage and textured mark-making evoke the thin mountain air, glacial light and centuries of pilgrimage woven into the Khumbu landscape.
