Mugi Hill glowing red above the Nithi River on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya.
The painting was developed from the changing light encountered along the Chogoria route, where dense vegetation, rock and water give way to the higher reaches of the mountain. Here, the last light catches Mugi Hill while the river moves through the darker landscape below.
