Giraffes Among Acacia, Amboseli Savannah
100 x 120 cm
oil and mixed media on linen canvas
Framed in a custom designed oak frame
Giraffes move almost imperceptibly through the acacia woodland of Amboseli, their forms dissolving into the heat, dust and vegetation of the savannah.
Painted following time spent in Amboseli, Kenya, the work explores the way animals appear and disappear within the landscape: glimpsed between branches, light and shifting colour rather than separated from their surroundings.
