Valley In The Morning Light captures the cool early light of Kamikōchi in the Japanese Alps, where the mountain valley opens between forested slopes and distant peaks. Layered passages of oil paint, broken marks and shifting colour evoke the changing atmosphere of the landscape rather than describing it literally, recalling the experience of travelling on foot through the valley.
